Client in Poland – manufacturer of exhaust and catalytic converter systems for the automotive industry
Project duration: 6 months
Focus of the project:
Based on the initial analysis of savings potential, the following key commodities with the greatest potential were defined:
Formed steel structural components | Insulating materials | Packaging materials | Agency employees
Main approaches used in cost optimization:
- Negotiation of new business conditions with the three most important suppliers (following the perspective of extending product projects and consolidation of volumes; partially utilized optimization of specific parts in closer cooperation with the supplier).
- Implementation of wider selection procedures and subsequent negotiations for a portfolio of direct materials supplied by 11 other suppliers.
- Implementation of the tender procedure for the supply of cardboard packaging; increasing competitiveness by addressing a wide portfolio of potential suppliers.
- Optimizing the necessary work capacities, subsequent selection procedures and negotiations with invited employment agencies; the use of Kloepfel's very good knowledge and experience in the field of employment agencies on the Polish market, as well as a high-quality benchmark based on a long-term partnership with one of the agencies.
The results:
The goal set by the client - savings: 1.0 mil. Eur
Potential savings identified at the beginning of the project: 1.06 mil. Eur
Real "cash-in" savings achieved 12 months from the start of the project: 0.84 mil. Eur
Implemented optimizations with savings in the next 12 months:
(depending on the actual realization of planned production volumes) 1.73 million Eur
